Hair Transplant

A Hair transplant is the practice of moving hair follicles from one section of the scalp to another where hair growth is desired. The area from which hair follicles are gathered is known as the donor site. Donor sites are usually found in areas of the scalp that are genetically resistant to balding, such as the back portion of the head. That way, the hair follicles have a better chance of growing new hair in areas of the scalp that need stimulation, typically the top and front portions. Meanwhile, the hair follicles that were removed from the donor site will grow back as normal, not leaving a trace of the extraction at all.

While you may be dealing with the frustration of emerging bald spots and sections of hair that have begun to thin out, it is likely that you still have perfectly healthy, full sections of hair on other parts of your scalp. If this is the case, you do not need to fear. With advanced hair transplantation methods, hair follicles can be harvested from those healthier sections and transplanted to the areas that are lacking.

One of the greatest advantages of utilizing the NeoGrafting hair transplant technique, is that it delivers some of the best, most natural results you won’t likely achieve with the use of any other method. Because the new hair that will begin to grow in the desired area is from your own extracted follicles, it will appear and behave the same way the rest of your existing hair does. This makes for a far more natural appearance and blend.

FUE Hair Transplant

Hair naturally grows in groupings of 1 to 4 strands. During hair transplantation, the groupings are taken as a whole and set in different areas together. This makes it much easier for the specialist performing the procedure to recreate and mimic the original orientation of your hair.

There are different techniques that are currently used to perform hair transplant procedures. The two main procedures are Follicular Unit Transplantation (FUT) and Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE). Follicular Unit Transplantation is the process of removing a strip of tissue from the back of the head that will later have hair follicles extracted from it and then transplanted onto other sections of the scalp. Follicular Unit Extraction extracts each follicle individually directly from the scalp rather than unnecessarily removing any tissue.

Clearly Follicular Unit Extraction is the more effective option when opting for hair transplantation. Incredible methods have emerged since the implementation of this technique, most notably NeoGraft, which has made Follicular Unit Extraction automated and that much more efficient.
